Is there a specific name for the stereotypical personality type displayed by reluctant heroes in movies today?

Sorry if the question is a bit confusing but I’m referring to the reluctant heroes in movies like Disney movies and video games. Let’s use Flynn Rider from Disney’s “Tangled” as an example. He’s not born a hero, he’s a bit cocky and has boyish charm, he’s not highly intelligent, he rushes into action, and he doesn’t live such a honest life before his heroism. However, in the end he uses his stupid boyish charm, pulls a stunt or two, gets favored by luck and ends up winning the girl and saving the day. Is there a specific characterization or named character type that fits into this role?
In all honesty, this type of character saving the day pisses me off. Shouldn’t it be the evil (or not so evil) mastermind who has a mastery of mind rather than heart that should win the girl and win the day? :-/
